Bahria Town Karachi is a privately-ownedgated neighbourhood under-construction in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan by the Bahria Town Group.[2]
Located under 44,000 Acres of land, just off the Super Highway, the community will include the Grand Jamia Mosque, which will be the world's third largest, and the countries largest cricket stadium designed by GMW Architects.[3][4][5][6] The community is divided by the 400 ft wide 18 lane Jinnah Avenue.[7][8]The community will be energy independent by setting up one coal-fired and one LNG-powered electricity generation plant in partnership with K-Electric.[9][10]
Once completed, the community will be home to an estimated 500,000 people.[11][12] It is also home to an 18-hole United States Golf Association standard golf course. The total cost of the project is a little over $1billion.[13]The town will be connected to I. I. Chundrigar Road through an under-construction metrobus.[14][15] As of March 9, 2016, 104,000 residential unit's have been sold to customers.[16]
